Holiday Cookout at Falkner Farms



The club was recruited again this year to assist Harvest United Methodist Church with its' annual Holiday Cookout at Falkner Farms for the Migrant Workers and their families.  For the fifth year in a row, the club cooked hamburgers and hot dogs to feed the 600+ party attendees.   The children all received special gifts from church members and enjoyed an afternoon of fun.








International Projects - Water and Polio

Rotary Club of East Manatee member Ross Russo, a past club president who is leading District 6960’s effort against polio this year, traveled to India in October. While there, he checked on the progress of a multiyear sustainable project that is providing clean water to several schools and villages.

His trip coincided with World Polio Day. While he was in Bangalore, India, Ross administered polio vaccine drops to children. He used Skype to share the visit live with the Rotary Club of Sanibel/Captiva, which used the occasion to present a check for $5,500.00 to help Rotary continue its fight against polio.


Welcome Back Snowtarians

Two of the Club's Snowtarians have returned from the North and wasted no time in reconnecting with the Rotary Club of East Manatee. Art and Dell Clough of Meredith, NH  are back for the winter and have already volunteered at our annual Pepsi Booth at Hunsader Farm's Pumpkin Festival. Each year we look forward to  reconnecting with of all our returning Snowtarians and welcoming new Snowtarians who find visit our club.


2014 Keep Manatee Beautiful Public Service Award 

Eco-Rotary of East Manatee is pleased to announce they are the recipients of the Keep Manatee Beautiful 2014 Public Service Award for a Community Organization. We are thrilled to be a part of an organization which strives to provide awareness and education on litter prevention, beautification and environmental improvement.


Parrish Chili Cook-Off

This year the Eco Rotary of East Manatee defended it's title as First Place Winners in the Annual Chili Cook-Off challenge at Parrish Heritage Days Parade and Festive.  Club President, Rich Zang, was recruited to prepare this year's chili. Eco Rotary was victorious in holding the First Place Winner title this year. 

The ECO Rotary Club of East Manatee has been supporting the Parrish Heritage Day festivities for several years and once again staffed the beer booth, Pepsi booth, and sold T-Shirts for the Parrish Civic Association with all proceeds going to the Parrish Foundation.

Ben Jordan, Vice President of the Parrish Foundation, attended the subsequent Rotary meeting to present the ECO Rotary Club of East Manatee with the $500 grand prize check.
